Vibrant signed landscape titled Angel Fire, attributed to Taos, New Mexico artist Mark K. Kemper. Rendered in richly saturated reds, yellows, greens, blues, and violets, the composition depicts a layered mountain landscape with brilliant autumnal foliage in an expressive, almost abstracted style.
The work is executed on paper in a heavily worked mixed-media technique, with visible individual strokes and areas of rich color and texture. It is titled “Angel Fire” in pencil beneath the image and signed “M.K. Kemper” at lower right.
Angel Fire is a mountain community in northern New Mexico near Taos, making the subject particularly fitting for an artist associated with the Taos area.
Presented under glass with a wide white mat in a handsome antiqued silver-tone molded frame. The restrained metallic frame provides a pleasing counterpoint to the unusually vivid palette and makes the piece ready to hang.
