Two hand-built wood pictures, carved and layered piece by piece until flowers rise off the panel in three dimensions. Warm walnut, honeyed oak, and pale maple are shaped, beveled, and fitted together like a puzzle only the maker could see — no paint, just wood speaking in its own grain and color.
Made by a retired Kansas craftsman who spent his later years at the workbench instead of the desk, these were sold by hand at local craft shows in the 1980s–90s — never mass-produced, never catalogued, never seen again online since. Each piece carries his signature, carved into the corner. The original hand-lettered vendor card survives with them.
One basket holds tulips reaching upward in quiet motion. The other holds peonies, full and unfurled, heavy with bloom. Framed in warm wood, ready to hang as a pair or apart — a small, patient act of craft, made by hand for a home that will notice.
24” x 20”, framed. Signed “TL.” Sold as a pair with original maker’s card.
