A handsome English Regency mahogany bowfront or demilune-shaped sideboard dating to the early 19th century. The beautifully figured mahogany case features a graceful bowed front with two central drawers flanked by an additional drawer and cabinet at either side, retaining striking period-style brass rosette ring pulls and escutcheons.

The sideboard is raised on six slender reeded legs terminating in squared feet, lending the substantial case an elegant, architectural lightness. The richly patinated mahogany top follows the sweeping bow of the case and displays particularly lovely depth and warmth of color.

A classic and highly versatile example of Regency furniture, used traditionally in a dining room or reimagined as a console in an entry, living room, or beneath a large work of art.
