The composition is organised through proportions inspired by the golden ratio, although its geometry is never presented as a demonstration. Instead, curved forms, vertical structures and intersecting planes create an equilibrium that feels almost inevitable.

Muted blues and greens meet terracotta, deep reds, ochre, pale pink and ivory. The deliberately worked surface introduces scratches, traces and variations in density, softening the precision of the underlying geometry.

Sophie Dumont's approach remains fundamentally painterly: structure provides the framework, but colour and material ultimately determine the emotional character of the work. See less
