The body is flanked by two freestanding walnut columns resting on block-like pedestals. The top is finished with an ebonized cornice that frames the entire edge.

Beneath the top is a drawer with two brass ring handles. Behind it is the writing flap: the front folds down to reveal a generous writing surface. The interior is divided into compartments and shelves, some veneered in burl wood. Below the flap are two drawers for documents and writing materials.

The fronts and top are finished in mirror-image walnut veneer. The symmetrical grain pattern extends across the flap and drawers, creating a continuous design. The escutcheons are inlaid as ebonized diamond shapes.

This piece of furniture is suitable as a writing desk in a study or as a standalone piece in a living room.
