A two-door, pillared cabinet from the Biedermeier period, originating in southern Germany. The cabinet body is made of softwood and veneered in cherry; the veneer pattern is emphasized with a continuous grain.
Above the two doors is a full-length drawer. The doors are also veneered on the inside. The cabinet stands on short, block-like feet that extend from the edges of the cabinet body.
The brass fittings have been cleaned. The cabinet has been restored, polished with shellac, and is ready for use.
