Elegant French Art Deco sculpture depicting an archer, titled “L’ARCHER”, after Jean de Roncourt, made in France circa 1930s.
The composition captures an athletic male figure in the dynamic act of drawing his bow, a subject closely associated with the Art Deco fascination with movement, strength and the idealized human form.
The figure is crafted from metal with a rich bronze-colored patina and stands on a geometric marble base. The bow is made of Bakelite, a material particularly characteristic of the Art Deco period.
