An impressive executive desk, the t96 model, known as the "boomerang," designed by osvaldo borsani for tecno in 1956.
an icon of post-world war ii italian design, the t96 stands out for its large, enveloping top, designed to create a functional and dramatic workstation. The top is embellished with a large, recessed black desk pad supported by two independent storage units: a long side drawer unit with numerous drawers and an open compartment, and a more compact drawer unit on the opposite side.
the storage units are supported by elegant three-spoke metal supports, visually lightening the structure and emphasizing its resolutely modern character. The surface is covered in a refined wood, presumably rosewood, characterized by warm, even grain.
this piece retains the original tecno logo, visible inside the drawer unit.
the desk is in original condition, with marks, scratches, and light abrasions consistent with age and use. Specifically, there are some marks on the side of the main drawer unit and normal wear along the edges. These elements are documented in the photographs and help tell the story of the piece. Conservation work is recommended, without altering the original patina.
