This is a classic example of Southern outsider/folk art, heavily utilizing found objects and upcycled materials The base is constructed from two pieces of painted wood arranged in a Christian crucifix cross formation. Four discarded paintbrushes are mounted onto the wood with large screws and washers, and the top features a round, metal can lid painted with a character face.Imagery:The top metal lid shows a stylized, anxious or hyper-expressive face with green "X" eyes and a wide, gritted-teeth mouth.The center intersection features a pink painted heart with a squiggly-mouthed, spiral-eyed face inside.
