A dramatic large-scale decorative sculpture depicting an exotic dancer in motion, presented with a substantial Neoclassical-style fluted wood pedestal. The figure is modeled with remarkable movement, her arms extended as she holds the sweeping folds of an elaborately patterned skirt and veil. A warm bronze-toned patina contrasts beautifully with the pale green, naturally aged surface of the drapery.
The composition recalls early 20th-century Austrian Orientalist and Art Deco bronze sculpture, particularly the celebrated dancing figures associated with Franz Bergmann and his workshop. This example is unsigned and is offered as a later decorative work in that tradition rather than as an attributed Bergmann bronze.
The accompanying pedestal makes the sculpture especially effective as a floor-standing statement piece. Constructed in warm-toned wood, it features a tall fluted column, molded circular base, and an ornate Ionic-style capital accented with gilt detailing. The square shaped top provides an elegant architectural platform for the figure.
The sculpture and pedestal are separate pieces and can be displayed together as shown or used independently. Together they create an imposing approximately 70.5-inch-tall installation, particularly well suited to an entry hall, library, living room, gallery space, or other interior requiring a substantial sculptural focal point.
Pedestal dimensions: 48" H x 12.5" W x 12.5" D

The sculpture displays variations in patina, oxidation, rubbing, small marks, and areas of verdigris/pale green surface coloration, particularly throughout the drapery, all contributing to its aged decorative character. No signature has been located. The wood pedestal shows scattered scratches, small nicks, abrasions, finish wear, and areas of wear to the gilt decoration, particularly around projecting edges and the base. These are visible in the photographs and are consistent with age and use. The sculpture and pedestal are separate and are not permanently attached to one another. Please review all photographs closely for additional condition detail. less
