Titled Devotion, the sculpture is numbered 744 of an edition of 2001 and bears Cantrell’s engraved signature and edition number.

The composition is unusually dimensional. Two finely detailed wolves, rendered in warm-toned patinated metal, appear within the clear Lucite form, while the Lucite itself is sculpted into the monumental head of a wolf. From the front, the transparent wolf head emerges almost like an apparition behind the smaller figures; viewed from the sides and rear, the faceted Lucite refracts and repeats the wolves within, creating an ever-changing sculptural effect.

The work is accompanied by the illuminated black display base purchased with the sculpture, which lights the Lucite from below and dramatically enhances its transparency, depth, and optical qualities. The sculpture can be displayed either illuminated or unlit, allowing it to shift from a refined tabletop sculpture by day to a striking glowing accent in the evening.

Originally modeled in clay, Cantrell’s wildlife sculptures for Starlite Originals combine traditional metal casting with contemporary Lucite fabrication. The result is a distinctive fusion of realistic wildlife sculpture and modern transparent form.

Condition:
Excellent pre-owned condition. No chips, cracks, repairs, or losses observed to the sculpture. The Lucite remains clear and presents beautifully, with only minimal surface wear consistent with careful display and handling. The metal figures retain their decorative patinated finish.

The lighted display base is included and fully operational.
