A striking vintage signed C. Jeré for Artisan House Mid-Century Modern Brutalist wall sculpture, dated 1976, featuring an expressive botanical composition of sculptural oak leaves, branching stems, and acorn-like seed pods.
Handcrafted from brass, copper, steel, and mixed metals, the piece showcases the dimensional construction and richly worked surfaces that define classic Curtis Jeré sculpture. Each leaf is individually formed with deeply ruffled, torch-cut edges and raised central veins, creating dramatic texture and movement throughout the composition.
The finish is particularly beautiful, with layered tones of golden brass, warm copper, amber, bronze, and darkened metal flowing across the foliage. Several leaves display fiery orange and reddish accents, giving the sculpture an almost autumnal quality. Small sculptural acorns are worked into the branches, adding another layer of organic detail.
The open framework allows the wall behind the sculpture to become part of the composition, while the projecting leaves and branches cast dramatic shadows that emphasize its three-dimensional character. The irregular, windswept arrangement gives the piece a strong Brutalist and Organic Modern presence, while retaining the elegance associated with Mid-Century decorative metalwork.
The sculpture is clearly signed “C. Jeré” and dated 1976, confirming it as an authentic vintage Artisan House production.
Condition
Good vintage condition with age-appropriate patina, oxidation, surface wear, and natural finish variation throughout. The brass, copper, and mixed-metal surfaces retain a beautifully aged appearance consistent with nearly fifty years of display.
Individual leaves and branches may show slight bends, irregularities, or surface variation consistent with handcrafted construction and age. These characteristics contribute to the sculpture’s authentic vintage character. Please review all photographs closely, as they form an important part of the condition description.

Why We Love It
This sculpture is a beautiful example of C. Jeré’s ability to transform natural forms into bold architectural wall art. The oak leaves are highly sculptural, with deeply worked edges, dimensional veins, and layered metallic finishes that create remarkable texture and movement.
The fiery mix of brass, copper, amber, and bronze gives the composition an especially rich autumnal quality, while the exposed welded branches and raw metal construction add a distinctly Brutalist edge.
It is equally at home in a Mid-Century Modern, Brutalist, Organic Modern, Contemporary, or eclectic interior, and would make an exceptional statement above a credenza, sofa, fireplace, console, or dining-room sideboard.
