A signed trompe l’oeil ceramic bell pepper by American ceramic artist Mary Kirk Kelly (1918–2013). Kelly became particularly known for her remarkably lifelike ceramic interpretations of fruits and vegetables.
This petite sculpture features a deeply modeled red pepper form with natural tonal variation and a contrasting green stem. Its realistic scale and unexpected subject make it particularly appealing as a kitchen, bookshelf, or tabletop styling object.
