An iconic pair of "Navy" barstools finished in hand-brushed aluminum made by Emeco in the United States. Designed in 1944 and still in production today, the "Navy" chair is famed for its lightweight strength and durable construction. The chairs are hand-formed from recycled aluminum, then hand-brushed and treated resulting in a soft, brushed nickel-toned finish. Crafted with a saddle-form seat, vertical slat back with a flat top rail, and cross-stretcher base, the chairs combine utilitarian industrial engineering with sophisticated Machine Age design. The stools have a 24 inch counter height seat. The pair is stamped on the back with Emeco's makers and a maker's label to the underside. A versatile pair well-suited for kitchen islands, counters, high tables, outdoors, or modern-industrial interiors. Sold as a pair.
