The composition harks back to the iconography of Venus Anadyomene, a subject derived from Greco-Roman tradition and frequently reinterpreted in European decorative arts between the 19th and 20th centuries.

The figure is sculpted in the round and features particularly interesting modeling both from the front and back. The raised arms frame the face, while the hair is gathered with both hands. At the base, a highly sculptural drapery forms a large decorative knot.

The surface retains a notable patina in ochre, earth, and brown tones, with chromatic variations, abrasions, craquelure, and small losses that testify to its age and contribute to the work's strong material character.

The sculpture is hollow internally and crafted from a light-colored material that was subsequently patinated, likely patinated plaster or ceramic. There are no visible signatures or manufacturing marks.

Attributable to Italian manufacture from the first half of the 20th century, circa 1900–1940.

Traces of aging and surface irregularities have been intentionally preserved and are an integral part of the work's charm.
