Important French Art Deco sculpture produced in the 1930s and signed by the renowned sculptor Maurice Font.
The sculpture depicts a striking pair of panthers walking in perfect harmony, capturing the power, elegance and fluid movement that became hallmarks of French Art Deco animalier sculpture. Their streamlined silhouettes and finely modelled anatomy convey both strength and refinement, reflecting the artistic language of the period.
Executed in patinated metal with a rich dark finish, the two panthers rest on an impressive geometric base crafted from black marble and enhanced with contrasting green onyx inserts.
