A monumental and highly sculptural vintage five-piece regional artisan crafted Texas Longhorn, steer horn and cowhide living room suite, circa 70s /80s. This exceptionally rare, Western decor matching ensemble is beautifully crafted and comprises a sprawling double-crest settee, a commanding high-back lounge armchair with a suspended oval medallion backrest, a central rectangular coffee table, and two matching clustered horn footstools. Every structural support across the five pieces is engineered from substantial, select interlocking authentic steer horns that taper into dramatic natural points.
The seating frames are tightly upholstered in premium hair-on-hide cowhide, showcasing a rich chocolate brindle coat. The coffee table and footstools provide an intentional counterpoint, wrapped seamlessly in a contrasting tricolor piebald speckled pattern of chestnut tan, cream, and deep espresso tones. Every core connection point is wrapped in thick leather banding and fastened with exposed dome-head brass upholstery tacks.
The set retains an official, vintage "Hecho en México" national eagle emblem stamp on the horn framework. The set is a registered piece of 20th-century Mexican export art. It is a striking, museum-caliber statement installation.
Condition: Excellent, Consistent with Age and Wear. The entire suite remains structurally rock-solid and stable. The natural horn retains it’s glossy sheen. No structural cracks or loose joint play. The hair-on-hide upholstery is very well-preserved, showing zero bald spots or thinning patches, The original "Hecho en México" stamp is intact. Minor, expected age-appropriate oxidation to the structural brass tacks and slight, natural superficial scuffing on the horn undersides.
