A substantial vintage Mexican carved-stone accent lamp depicting three polar bears climbing across a glowing iceberg, fashioned from beautifully banded translucent calcite commonly marketed as Mexican onyx. When illuminated, the cream, honey, amber, and white mineral banding becomes dramatically backlit, giving the central iceberg a warm natural glow while highlighting the individually carved bears.

Sculptural illuminated central "iceberg" formed from a large block of translucent banded stone
Three carved polar bears positioned at different elevations
Large honey-toned bear mounted across the top
Smaller white/translucent bear positioned on the middle ledge
Larger white/translucent standing bear mounted on the projecting base
Small dark inset eyes on the lower bear
Natural horizontal mineral banding produces cream, white, beige, honey and pale amber coloration
Internal illumination transforms the stone into a warm glowing accent light
Separate stone components appear mechanically attached to the base/body

Condition Vintage condition with age-appropriate surface wear and natural variation throughout the stone. Lamp has been tested and illuminates as shown. Stone exhibits numerous natural mineral bands, translucent areas, inclusions and color variations characteristic of calcite/onyx. Several darker mineral/inclusion areas are visible within the main iceberg body. Minor surface marks, scratches, residue and age-related discoloration are present. Carved bears remain attractive and display well. Underside shows recessed mounting screws/hardware securing the assembled sculpture. No catastrophic breakage is apparent from the supplied photographs. Because calcite is naturally veined and relatively soft, some visible lines may represent natural mineral fissures rather than structural damage. Electrical components appear to have seen prior use; as with all vintage lighting, continued use should be at the buyer's discretion. Please review all photographs closely, particularly the carved figures and natural stone surfaces, as they form an important part of the condition description.
