Vintage 1940’s MCM Will George Ceramic Flamingo Statue
Perfect condition! 9.5” tall 4” wide at base.
Artist/Studio: Will-George of Pasadena CA (founded by brothers William and George Climes).
Era: Circa 1940s to 1950s.
Material: Glazed ceramic / porcelain.
Design Features: A stylized pink flamingo with detailed black-tipped wings perched on a textured green/teal foliage base.
Will-George flamingo figurines hold a legendary spot in pop culture history. In 1946, infamous mobster Bugsy Siegel commissioned a limited run of 200 custom Will-George ceramic flamingos to give away as VIP opening-night gifts at the grand opening of the historic Flamingo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
