Exceptional 1940's plein air oil painting by Norman Hart (1889-1957) depicting a stunning California desert landscape near the base of the San Jacinto Mountains. Original and one of a kind. The artist was born in Utah and relocated to Southern California in 1917. He was self taught and maintained a studio on Mount Baldy for many years. The medium is oil on canvas board. Signed in the lower right. Titled "Desert in Spring" and dated 1940 in pencil along the back of the frame.
