"An exceptionally rare, perfectly matched pair of Japanese Shōwa-era (1960s) modern tansu chests.
These exquisite chests feature a clean-lined, minimalist frame crafted from premium wood with a striking, highly expressive continuous vertical grain flowing down the five drawers.
Each drawer is fitted with recessed brass campaign-style flush pulls, gracefully bridging traditional Japanese utility with mid-century modern aesthetics.
Acquired in Japan over 60 years ago and lovingly preserved by a single family, this beautiful pair serves perfectly as large bedside nightstands or side chests.
