Jorge Zalszupin/ Set of Six Senior Armchairs
Metal, Leather / Brazil, 1950’s.
The Senior chair, designed by Jorge Zalszupin in the 1950s and produced by LAtelier from 1959 to 1969, pairs a curved leather seat and back with metal legs. Exposed joinery and hardware complement frame, while the leather lends comfort anc refinement. Minimalist yet elegant, the Senior was conceived for both domestic and formal settings, a design equally at ease in intimate interiors or public spaces.
As one of Zalszupin's earliest creations, the Senior already showed his instinct for balancing lightness with craftsmanship. Combining European restraint with Brazilian warmth, it foreshadowed the refined and versatile language that would define his career.
