Offered is an original painting by Josef Lacina (1899–1975), the Czech painter known for his expressive figurative and landscape works.
This striking portrait depicts a seated woman rendered in Lacina’s bold, expressive style, with strong contrasts of deep burgundy, black, ochre, yellow and green. The simplified forms, confident brushwork and dramatic color palette give the work a distinctly modernist/Expressionist character.
The painting is presented in a substantial vintage carved wood frame that complements the artwork particularly well.
