Quarter sawn oak gentleman's wardrobe featuring a bank of five graduated drawers, two smaller drawers (all featuring original dovetail joints), and a paneled door concealing a large hanging compartment. The interior of the door includes a cast iron Imperial Trouser Hanger by Pynchon & Co. of Philadelphia-an original period detail patented in 1900. The cabinet rests on turned bun feet and retains its original brass knobs, paneled joinery, and rich golden oak finish displaying a distinctive tiger grain pattern throughout.
Aurora Furniture Co. of Aurora, Indiana, was an early 20th-century Midwestern manufacturer known for solid oak case goods, bedroom suites, and functional domestic furnishings that emphasized craftsmanship and durability.
