This lamp is reminiscent of the organic, nature-inspired design aesthetic of the 1970s. The handcrafted, round ceramic base features gently blending shades of beige and sand, which are adorned in the upper section by a delicate, flowing glaze – a technique characteristic of scandinavian and german studio ceramics of that era. The slightly rustic texture of the surface lends it an artistic appearance and makes each piece unique.
the lamp is crowned by a tall, cylindrical lampshade made of natural-coloured fabric, which provides warm, diffused light and harmoniously complements the natural colour palette of the ceramic. Its design combines minimalism with modernist craftsmanship, making it a perfect fit for scandinavian, boho or contemporary interior styles.
the philosophy of the krösselbach ceramics workshop follows the principles of the bauhaus and strives for clear, dynamic and functional forms with a distinct, austere aesthetic. At the heart of the design are appealing, unique individual pieces or series that blend into their surroundings whilst still standing out from them. I mix clay from my own clay pit with other raw materials to create my own ceramic blend. Fired at a temperature of around 1070 °c, this produces a sintered, stoneware-like body.
