Brass pendant lamp designed to control light diffusion through a structure constructed on three concentric levels. The central cup, to which the suspension chain is attached, encloses the lamp holder and is surrounded by a continuous cylindrical body featuring five regularly spaced perforations. On the outside, five curved brass segments complete the diffuser, leaving gaps between each element and featuring distinctive irregular edges achieved by cutting and subsequent heat-finishing. The overlapping of these elements shields the light source without impeding its diffusion, creating soft downward lighting that is filtered laterally through the perforations and spaces between the segments. Due to its construction concept and the quality of the brass workmanship, this piece can be traced back to some of the productions by Svend Aage Holm-Sørensen for Holm Sørensen & Co., one of the leading exponents of Scandinavian Brutalism applied to lighting in the 1960s, despite the lack of markings or documentation that would allow for a definitive attribution.
