Hand-woven bamboo pendant lamp with a cylindrical frame and rattan chain. 75 cm long electrical cord. 1970s.
Woven rattan pendant lamp featuring a cylindrical frame with a slightly tapered profile, achieved by combining curved and hand-secured elements. The weave alternates vertical rods and ring motifs at the top and bottom, creating an open composition that lets light filter through and generates an intricate play of shadows. The suspension chain, made of woven rattan links, and the ceiling rose covered in the same material reflect the construction language of the entire piece. Between the 1960s and 1970s, rattan became widely used in European furnishings, reflecting the renewed interest in natural materials and artisanal craftsmanship, often reinterpreted through modern geometric shapes. The pendant is completed with a 75 cm long electrical cord.
