Designed by French architect Robert Mallet-Stevens, the iconic Model 222 is one of the earliest tubular steel chair designs of the modern movement. Originally conceived in the late 1920s, these examples are the well-known Italian production by Pallucco from the 1980s.
Set of three stackable chairs with lacquered tubular steel frames and black skai upholstered seats. Two chairs are finished in a deep forest green and one in a vibrant cobalt blue, creating a playful postmodern composition while remaining faithful to the minimalist design.
The chairs are structurally sound and comfortable. The upholstery is in good vintage condition with only light traces of use. The painted frames show some expected wear and small paint losses consistent with age, as shown in the photographs. The green ones have been repainted during their lifetime, with some traces of original blue beneath.
A timeless design that works equally well around a dining table, in a studio, office or contemporary interior. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
