c. 1880s-1890s; Kemp & Burpee Mfg. Co. - Syracuse, NY
Tin‑lithographed advertising sign for "The Original Kemp Manure Spreader," with shaded block lettering on a green field and an oval vignette of a horse‑drawn spreader at work.
Printed with the sales boast "will spread any and all kinds of yard and stable manures," this farm‑supply panel likely hung at a dealer or implement shed. The face shows honest oxidation, scattered scratches, and edge wear consistent with outdoor use; colors remain readable and graphic. Lower right credits Kaufmann & Strauss Co., N.Y., a noted lithographic sign maker of the era. The Kemp & Burpee Mfg. Co. was established in 1877 by Joseph Kemp and William Burpee.
