A handsome early 20th-century antique pedestal table featuring a distinctive octagonal top and beautifully figured warm-toned wood. The table is supported by a substantial turned center pedestal with gracefully curved legs terminating in casters.
The eight-sided top gives the table an architectural quality while its 36.25-inch size makes it particularly versatile. It works beautifully as an intimate dining or breakfast table for two to four, but could also serve as a game table, library table, or statement center table.
The wood has developed attractive variations in color and patina over time, giving the piece the character expected from a genuine antique. The table is unmarked, and no manufacturer’s label was found.
A wonderful combination of traditional craftsmanship, sculptural form, and practical scale.

The tabletop presents beautifully overall with scattered surface scratches, small marks, minor impressions, and finish variations. The pedestal and legs show additional age-related wear, including areas of finish loss and previous touch-up. The underside shows evidence of previous hardware placement and reinforcement. Structurally sound and displays very well. Please review all photographs as they are an important part of the condition description. Our collection features thoughtfully selected furnishings chosen for their quality, craftsmanship, design, and decorative appeal. Our inventory includes both vintage and contemporary pieces, ranging from exceptionally well-preserved and near-new examples to vintage furnishings that reflect the natural character of age and previous use. We also offer quality pieces by makers that may not carry the name recognition or collectibility of top-tier designer brands, but that we believe stand out for their construction, materials, design, and overall value. Many of our vintage pieces remain in remarkably good condition, while others may exhibit variations in finish, patina, fading, surface wear, minor imperfections, and other signs of a previous life. We consider these characteristics part of the individuality and history that make vintage furniture so appealing. Photographs are provided as an important part of the condition description, and we encourage their careful review. A single image has been digitally staged to showcase potential placement and styling. The remaining photographs provide the most accurate representation of the piece’s condition, finish, and overall character. less
