This is "The Lamp of the Celestial Legends," a vintage fine porcelain table lamp produced by the Franklin Mint in 1991. It features rich enamel artwork and 24K gold accents depicting the Four Symbols (Four Sacred Beasts) of traditional Chinese cosmology.
Mythological Motifs
Azure Dragon (Qinglong): Represents the East, spring, and imperial power.
Vermilion Bird (Zhuque): Represents the South, summer, and transformation.
White Tiger (Baihu): Represents the West, autumn, and physical protection.
Black Tortoise (Xuanwu): Represents the North, winter, stability, and endurance.
Design Details
Porcelain Artistry: Features a polished white body with Ruyi cloud collar borders, lotus scrollwork near the socket, and heavy gold leaf lining around each creature.
Hardware & Base: Set on a turned hardwood pedestal and topped with a brass finial shaped like the Chinese character Shou (寿/壽), representing long life.
