The upper part is … Read more 1.252 The renowned "Mezza Oracolo" was designed by the brilliant Italian architect and designer Gae Aulenti. The upper part is dominated by a majestic spherical diffuser in white opaline glass, conceived to emanate a soft, diffused, and enveloping light. This luminous globe, reminiscent of the formal purity of a full moon, rests elegantly on a solid cylindrical base in dark-painted metal. The cylinder's geometric rigor is expertly interrupted by a micro-perforated metal band that runs the entire circumference of the stem. This distinctive perforated band allows the internal light to filter delicately, creating a fascinating play of small luminous points that lighten the structure. The perfectly balanced proportions between the imposing sphere and the lower pillar give the object a distinct sculptural presence and an unmistakable space-age feel. More than a simple fixture, this creation represents a veritable miniature luminous architecture capable of defining the surrounding atmosphere. The chromatic and material contrast between the ethereal whiteness of the blown glass and the solidity of the dark metal unquestionably establishes its eternal modernity. Bibliography: G.
