c. 1920s; Silvertone (Sears, Roebuck & Co.) - Chicago
Mahogany floor-standing Silvertone phonograph featuring ornate Neoclassical Revival carvings and original brass tonearm assembly. The cabinet's upper compartment houses the turntable and internal horn, while the lower section offers fitted record storage behind twin doors. The grille is accented with gilt mesh and swag detailing, reflecting the transitional style of late acoustic-era furniture phonographs.
Silvertone was the in-house brand for Sears, Roebuck & Co., offering accessible, high-quality home audio equipment from the early 1900s onward. This model dates from the final years of acoustic phonographs, just before the rise of radio-phonograph combinations in the late 1920s.
