The object features a symmetrical, tripartite vertical composition divided into the following decorative sections. The finial features a Latin cross at the top flanked by two symmetrical putti in the round, while below the cross is depicted the dove of the Holy Spirit within a beam of light, hovering above a geometric drapery. The central section features an oval medallion with the Baptism of Christ in high relief at its center. The base features a small lobed basin for holy water, decorated with a central cherub’s face.
