Bill Fisher was a prolific painter and dedicated instructor at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.

Artist's Statement:
"I work in the tradition of modernist abstraction. That is, I rely on the form of painting to convey its content. By form I mean the relationships of the various visual elements, such as color, values, textures and space. In this postmodern environment I realize that my ideas may seem antiquated and irrelevant. However, I still believe that abstract painting has the capacity to express the complex nature of the human drama we call life." See less
