The base is where the piece turns sculptural — built from vertical marble slabs, each panel cut to show its own distinct expression of the stone's movement. The name comes from the Italian for "peach blossom," a nod to the blush tones drifting through the grey. It's quarried from a single site in the Carnic Alps of northeastern Italy, where each block is cut with its own particular pattern of movement and color.
