A large-scale wall sculpture by American sculptor Michael Enn Sirvet, created in 2013. The piece is constructed from thousands of hand-drilled holes across a high-density polyethylene panel in a warm brown tone, reinforced with a steel frame. Part of Sirvet's "Wall of Holes" series, the work explores repetition, light, and shadow through its dense, perforated surface, casting shifting patterns as light passes through and across it. The sculpture separates into four sections that fit back together for installation, making it easier to transport and mount.
Michael Enn Sirvet (b. 1967) is an American sculptor, designer, and structural engineer based in Washington, D.C. Originally trained in civil engineering, Sirvet left full-time engineering work in 2008 to focus on fine art sculpture and functional design. His work explores abstract, minimalist forms in metal, wood, and other materials, and has been recognized with the Award of Distinction for Metal from the James Renwick Alliance, a program of the Smithsonian's Renwick Gallery. His sculptures are held in private collections and several U.S. embassies internationally.
