A wonderful example of collectible American kitchenware, this vintage Hall China Aladdin teapot features the iconic Jewel Tea Autumn Leaf pattern and retains its coordinating lid and removable ceramic tea infuser.
The sculptural Aladdin form is especially striking, with a dramatically elongated spout flowing into the rounded body and an elegant spiral handle. Hall's warm ivory glaze provides the backdrop for the classic Autumn Leaf decoration in shades of burnt orange, golden yellow and brown, accented by hand-applied gold detailing.
The removable ceramic infuser fits inside the opening beneath the lid, which is an especially desirable feature when found intact with these vintage teapots.
The underside bears the Hall's Superior backstamp with the "Tested and Approved by Mary Dunbar, Jewel Homemakers Institute, Quality Kitchenware" mark associated with Hall's Jewel Tea kitchenware. Collector references document the same Mary Dunbar mark on Autumn Leaf Aladdin teapots.
A beautiful example of early-to-mid-20th-century American ceramic design, equally appealing as collectible Hall pottery or as a sculptural decorative object for a kitchen, breakfast room, or open shelving. My grandma used this during the Fall / Autumn season as decor as well as to make her tea.
