The central telephone image is set within cream and charcoal matting, bordered by a wide Persian-inspired textile-pattern mat featuring intricate geometric motifs and stripes in muted navy, burgundy, sage, rose, and cream. A narrow corded gilt trim defines the inner opening.

The substantial gilt composition frame features deeply molded scrolling foliate ornament with darker antiqued recesses, giving the piece additional depth and an appealing aged character. The combination of the diminutive telephone image, richly patterned textile surround, and ornate frame creates a wonderfully eclectic object with considerably more decorative presence than a conventional framed print.
