The substantial solid glass body is beautifully worked with flowing bands of brilliant yellow, cobalt blue, red, olive green, and translucent tones, creating a dynamic pattern that follows the contours of the bird.
The rooster is finished with dramatic translucent ruby-red glass detailing at the comb, wattle, and sweeping feathered tail, along with an amber-yellow beak and applied black glass eyes. Clear applied glass wings add further dimension to the sculptural body.
Particularly impressive for its relatively compact size, the piece weighs approximately 5 pounds, giving it the substantial presence and quality associated with collectible art glass.
