Perfectly embodying Buzzi's refined architectural language, these sconces balance sculptural geometry with the poetic qualities of Venetian glassmaking, resulting in a lighting design that feels both restrained and richly decorative. Each sconce is composed of a generous hand-blown Murano glass cup resting gracefully on a striking cantilevered support. The shade is executed in finely cased (incamiciato) glass, revealing a luminous white interior that diffuses light with remarkable softness, while the exterior displays a delicate pale green hue enriched by subtle golden inclusions and natural metallic speckling. The result is a surface of extraordinary depth, where the color shifts beautifully depending on ambient light and the angle of observation. Supporting the shade is one of the most distinctive elements of the design: a sophisticated Murano glass arm composed of five parallel ribbed elements fused into a single sculptural form. Executed in transparent pulegoso glass with delicate gold aventurine-like particles suspended throughout, the support captures and reflects light even when the fixture is switched off, creating an elegant dialogue between transparency, texture and precious metallic reflections. The warm brass wall plates and internal supports provide a refined counterpoint to the glass. Recently subjected to a careful conservative restoration, the original plaster securing the brass backplates to the Murano glass supports has been professionally renewed to guarantee long-term structural stability while fully respecting the original construction methods. During this intervention, the brass was gently polished, preserving its beautiful light vintage patina without compromising its authenticity. When illuminated, the opaline interior transforms into a warm, diffused glow, while the translucent green exterior acquires subtle honey and pale amber nuances. Simultaneously, the ribbed transparent support sparkles with countless golden reflections, emphasizing the extraordinary craftsmanship for which Venini became internationally celebrated. The pair remains in excellent vintage condition. Both Murano glass shades and structural glass supports are free from cracks, chips or restorations. The brass retains a beautiful original patina with only minor age-related wear consistent with careful use over more than eighty years. The sconces currently retain their original lamp holders. The wiring has been temporarily replaced solely for photographic purposes to safely demonstrate the illumination of the fixtures. Dimensions: Width: 17 cm (6.69 in.) Depth: 20.5 cm (8.07 in.)
