it features a large, reflective disk in lacquered aluminum, often described as a "floating disk." the shade is supported by a distinctive black metal fork connected to the suspension cable. The lamp is made of lacquered aluminum, steel, and abs components.

the presence of both trademarks confirms that the lamp is a historic, original transitional piece, produced between late 1973 and 1974.

the model was originally designed and produced by gino sarfatti for his own company, the now historic arteluce. Following the acquisition and merger of arteluce by flos in late 1973, production of the lamp continued under the flos brand. To avoid waste and ensure continuity of production, flos used the components and diffusers already printed by arteluce, assembling them with new flos-branded wiring or ceiling roses.
the lamp bears both brands.
gino sarfatti (1912-1985)
considered one of the greatest lighting designers of the 20th century, founder of arteluce and creator of over 600 lighting fixture models.
