Originally part of an … Read more Antique French wooden press screw from a traditional wine or cider press, dating from around 1850. Originally part of an agricultural press used to press grapes or apples, the massive hand-carved spiral thread has since been mounted on a round wooden base with three small feet and topped with a round plate, turning it into a freestanding pedestal or plant stand. The piece shows a rich, aged patina, natural shrinkage cracks and old woodworm traces that reflect its long working history, giving it a strong sculptural, rustic character well suited to brutalist or wabi-sabi interiors.
