They … Read more These patented clip mechanisms are one of the most iconic pieces of hardware in mid-century American costume jewelry history. They date primarily to the 1930s and 1940s. Because it predates the widespread post-WWII mark that changes at Coro, finding this patent stamp serves as an authenticating marker for early Art Deco Coro production. The clip mechanism stamp reads PAT. 1852188. This utility patent was issued to Elisha A. Phinney (for George H. Fuller & Son Co.) on April 5, 1932. The spring-loaded clip mechanism was widely used by Coro on their famous Art Deco fur clip sets throughout the 1930s and 1940s. This specific fur clip had all ports original crystals, and is in excellent condition for its age. See less
