The shape of the cross is reinterpreted in a contemporary key through a weave that encloses a heart.

The heart represents the complexity of human inner feelings and the contrasts that accompany existence: good and evil, desire and fear, love and hate, joy and suffering, trust and despair. The celestial gems symbolize those whose bodies live on earth but whose minds and hearts are turned toward the sky; the most intense blue gem becomes the central, spiritual focus of the composition.

The crackle, the chromatic variations, and the effects achieved through Raku firing make the surface and the entire work unique and one-of-a-kind.
