An elegant early 20th-century English Georgian Revival fireplace screen crafted in richly patinated mahogany, dating to approximately 1900–1920. Faithfully inspired by 18th-century Georgian design, the screen features a beautifully proportioned oval panel supported by turned barley-twist standards with urn-form finials, all resting on graceful tripod legs.
The warm mahogany has developed a mellow patina over more than a century, while the classic silhouette and refined craftsmanship make this an attractive decorative accent for a traditional, English Country, Colonial Revival, or Grandmillennial interior. Originally designed as a fireplace screen, it is equally at home displayed beside a hearth, in a library, or as a distinctive architectural accent in an entryway or sitting room.
Presented in good antique condition with age-appropriate wear, including scattered surface marks, finish wear consistent with age, and an old, professionally executed repair to the lower edge of the screen panel. These signs of age contribute to the character and authenticity of the piece without detracting from its decorative appeal.
