The composition … Read more A charming vintage Bing & Grøndahl porcelain figural sculpture, “Girl With Geese,” designed by Danish sculptor Axel Locher.

The composition depicts a young woman in a white blouse and richly glazed cobalt blue skirt standing among three geese on a naturalistic base. The beautifully modeled birds surround her feet, creating a wonderfully dimensional pastoral scene.

Executed in Bing & Grøndahl’s classic soft porcelain palette, with particularly striking cobalt blue contrasted against white, gray, warm neutral tones and subtle green detailing on the base.

The sculpture bears Axel Locher’s signature on the base and is marked on the underside with the Bing & Grøndahl Copenhagen factory mark, Made in Denmark, and model number 2254.

An appealing example of Danish decorative porcelain with enough scale and presence to display beautifully as a standalone sculpture or alongside other Scandinavian porcelain.

Condition:
Very good vintage condition with only negligible wear consistent with age and gentle display. No significant chips, cracks or repairs observed. Please review photographs for additional condition details.
