Steel articulating task lamp with a 6.5" square weighted base, double-jointed arm, and spun-metal shade-corresponding directly to the No. 306 "Floor and Bench Portable" model shown in the company's 1930s catalog.
Among the variants built on the 6.5" × 6.5" base, No. 306 is the tallest configuration, featuring a long upper arm and mid-arm knuckle assembly designed for extended reach across workbenches and machinery. The geometry of the joints, the base profile, and the shade form match the catalog illustration precisely, reinforcing the attribution. Originally marketed for tool rooms, manufacturing floors, and drafting environments, these lamps were prized for their rigidity and precision movement-qualities the present example still retains. Recently rewired in-house, it provides clean, warm illumination while maintaining its untouched industrial paint and working mechanical joints.
