A beautiful vintage triangular bowl/trinket dish, made and signed by the ceramicist Gabrielle Mackiewicz (1928-2019).
Gabrielle Mackiewicz is particularly known and recognized for her exceptional mastery of clay and her characteristic technique of fine mesh/engraving and chiseled motifs in the glaze, which is perfectly illustrated on this piece.
The contrast between the stylized plant decoration in a deep blue mesh pattern, the white details, and the terracotta background gives this piece a great Mid-Century elegance (1950s/60s).
The bowl is in good overall condition with a beautiful glaze gloss. There are a few minor chips on the rim (clearly visible in the close-up photos), which are quite typical for vintage ceramics of this period and do not detract from its charm or durability. A beautiful collector's item, representative of the expertise of an essential artist from the Vallauris school. This piece has an attribution mark,
