A striking vintage Chinese black lacquer sideboard showcasing beautifully hand-painted gilt decoration inspired by the traditional Scholars' Objects motif. The four paneled doors feature elegant vignettes of flowering vases, censers, scrolls, books, and decorative objects. Depicts timeless symbols of scholarship, prosperity, refinement, and longevity in Chinese decorative arts.
Expertly crafted of solid wood using traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, the cabinet features a substantial plank top, four paneled doors, three interior drawers, and a spacious shelved interior. Original brass ring pulls and exceptional craftsmanship highlight its enduring quality, while the generous scale makes it equally suited as a dining room sideboard, media cabinet, library credenza, or entry statement piece.
Its elegant proportions and classic Chinoiserie styling complement a wide range of interiors, from Traditional and Spanish Colonial to Hollywood Regency, Asian Modern, and Contemporary.
